The Problem
You get a call on your landline which is an automated BT service saying you have a text message.
Why does it happen?
The innocent reason is that someone is sending you a text message but has selected your landline number instead of your mobile number. The less innocent reason is marketing companies sending out spam text messages and not restricting it to mobile numbers. In both cases BT will store the text message, ring your landline number, and their automated system will read out the message.
How to stop it?
The good news is that it is easy to disable this system.
From your landline, dial 0800 587 5252
Select Option 1, then Option 5 to disable all messages.
Your request should be activated within 30 minutes.
Hope this is what you were looking for.

Office Answers Ltd was established in 2004 by Clare and Ian Marshall to provide telephone answering and virtual office services to small businesses.
Back then we only had 20 customers and gave each one our personal attention.
It's now 2012 and we will give you the same personal attention, leaving you thinking we still only have 20 customers, even though we have grown quite a fair bit over the years.
