Having recently gone through the process of creating Facebook.com/officeanswers I thought I would write it up in case it helps our virtual office customers and others.
The starting point assumes you have a personal page on Facebook because you will use this to be the administrator of your business page. You also need to have verified your personal account in Facebook. If you have n't previously verified your account you need to do it now by adding your mobile number in your contact information, and then enter the verification code that Facebook texts to you. There is more info on http://www.facebook.com/help/verify
So, assuming you are logged into your personal Facebook page, to create your business page
use the link below:
www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
You are probably going to choose "Company, organisation or institution" as shown below
You will then be prompted for a category and the company name (if you have choosen "local business or place"
you will also be asked for some address details).
The company name will be permanent
and can not be edited so double check your spelling.
Tick the box to agree to the terms and click Get Started.
Your page will have been created and you can start adding information. The first thing to do is add some info, such as company overview, products, business telephone number.
You are now up and running, but will have noticed that your page has a long and unfriendly address, such as http://www.facebook.com/pages/officeanswers/12345678912345678
How do you turn this into short name so it reads facebook.com/yourcompany ?
Previously to get an address like this you needed a certain number of Likes but this is no longer the case,
you can move straight into registering your page. Go to
www.facebook.com/username
Enter the username you would like for your page and click "Check Availability".
If your desired name is available you will get a confirmation box with some warnings that you need to read before you proceed. Once you do proceed the username is created.
You should now be able to go to facebook.com/ your company name If this has helped, please give our page a "Like" on facebook, Facebook.com/officeanswers

Office Answers Ltd was established in 2004 by Clare and Ian Marshall to provide telephone answering and virtual office services to small businesses.
Back then we only had 20 customers and gave each one our personal attention.
It's now 2012 and we will give you the same personal attention, leaving you thinking we still only have 20 customers, even though we have grown quite a fair bit over the years.
